Do kids really need homework ?

Does homework doing more harm than good ?  
Does it bring great advantages for children by encouraging them to think more independently outside the classroom or causing copious amount of unnecessary stress to everyone
The first reason is children need time to relax to refresh their minds and bodies 
Secondly, family times is important to a growing child
Thirdly, homework can cause conflict between children and parents
Too much homework can encourage cheating, they'll end up copying off one another in attempt to finish their assignment
Final, the teachers usually don't have time to grades papers properly as they're too busy with their lesson plans. So by the time student are getting back their papers the class has moved on  to a new topic
